On the 26th, the Korea Basketball Association announced a list of 24 men’s national basketball preliminary entries and 16 people to be trained for the 2-23 International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Olympic preliminary and the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games.
Heo Hoon, Song Gyo-chang (Lee Sang-mu), Ra Gun-ah, and Lee Seung-hyun (KCC) were listed on the 16-member list. Veteran Kim Seon-hyung and Oh Se-geun (above SK) also returned to the national team. Kim Seon-hyung and Oh Se-geun, who showed great success in the KBL last season as if they had forgotten their age, won the regular league MVP and playoff MVP, respectively.
Young players such as Ha Yoon-ki (KT), Lee Jung-hyeon (Day One), and Lee Woo-seok (Hyundai Mobis) also joined the national team. Lee Jung-hyun, who was also selected for the Chengdu Summer Universiade team to be held at the end of June, will join the adult national team after digesting the tournament.
The national team ahead of the Olympic preliminaries and the Asian Games will be convened at the Jincheon National Training Center on June 21st (Wednesday). The final entries to participate in each competition will be confirmed after the strengthening training and evaluation match against Japan.
