The Pony Chung Foundation delivered the 17th Pony Chung Innovation Award to Park Hang-seo, former head coach of the Vietnam men’s national soccer team, at Pony Chung Hall, I-Park Tower, Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 26th.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman Chung Mong-kyu, founder of the Pony Chung Foundation, wife Park Young-ja of the late HDC Group (former Hyundai Development Company) honorary chairman Jeong Se-young, and director Park Hang-seo, the winner of the award.
Previously, the Pony Chung Foundation announced in April that it had selected director Park Hang-seo as the winner of the 17th Pony Chung Innovation Award.
Chung Mong-kyu, chairman of the foundation, introduced the reason for the selection at the awards ceremony, saying, “Coach Park Hang-seo set a new milestone in the history of Vietnamese football and served as a bridge between Korea and Vietnam as a private diplomat.”
“The achievements that coach Park Hang-seo has made as the leader of the Vietnamese national soccer team are innovations that have expanded the horizons of the Korean soccer world,” said Chung.
